Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Lancaster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lancaster has chosen Fort Minor - Remember The Name as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jon Liddell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Lancaster!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Liddell tries to clinch but Lancaster moves out of range.
Lancaster moves in looking to clinch but Liddell pushes him off.
Lancaster wants to clinch but Liddell slips to the side

and Liddell counters with a shoot takedown. Lancaster fights it but they end up in guard.

Lancaster is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

It looks like Jon Liddell has been cut.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Liddell pushes down on Lancaster's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Lancaster throws a head kick that half lands.

Lancaster rushes Liddell and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Liddell tries to pull guard but Lancaster won't allow it.
Lancaster wants to break free but Liddell has control.
Liddell wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lancaster has him pressed against the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Lancaster tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Liddell just stands there and leans against the cage.
Lancaster fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jon Liddell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dean Lancaster.

Lancaster jumps guard but Liddell stands there with Lancaster around his waist. Lancaster gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lancaster has Liddell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Liddell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Liddell wants to get back to striking at distance but Lancaster won't allow it.
Lancaster wants a takedown but no success here.
Liddell stops a takedown attempt from Lancaster.
Lancaster looks gassed!
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Liddell gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Liddell is looking for a kimura but Lancaster is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Liddell to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lancaster regains full guard. Nicely done.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Liddell distracts Lancaster with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Liddell fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Lancaster breaks from the clinch.

Liddell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lancaster to the mat! Lancaster manages to get full guard.

Liddell stands up and waves to Lancaster to follow him.

An uppercut to the body lands inside from Liddell.
Liddell tries to pull guard but Lancaster won't allow it.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lancaster takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Lancaster lands a nice knee to the body.
Liddell is trying to break free.
Liddell fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Liddell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Liddell tries to pull guard but Lancaster holds him up against the cage and eventually Liddell drops back down to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Lancaster lands a nice hook to Liddell's body. Liddell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

That's time! Liddell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Lancaster lands with a nice body kick.
Lancaster throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Lancaster throws a leg kick which misses Liddell's front leg but catches the back leg as Liddell tries to avoid it.
Lancaster tries to clinch but Liddell is having none of it.
Liddell is looking to score with low kicks.

Liddell feints and as Lancaster raises his hands in defense, Liddell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Liddell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lancaster wants to sweep but no luck.
Lancaster is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Lancaster looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Liddell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lancaster swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Liddell is fighting to break Lancaster's control of his arms but Lancaster is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Lancaster has his takedown stuffed

and Liddell decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lancaster's guard.

Liddell stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lancaster swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lancaster looking to hit a scissor sweep but Liddell is one step ahead there.

Lancaster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Liddell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Liddell decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Liddell counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lancaster!

Lancaster fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Lancaster tries to clinch but Liddell moves out of range.
Lancaster pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Liddell moves in looking to clinch but Lancaster pushes him off.

Liddell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Liddell drops back looking for a leg! Lancaster is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lancaster manages to kick Liddell off! Liddell jumps back into Lancaster's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Liddell, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
