Parts has chosen Written in the Stars as his entrance music. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

31 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brenden Abbott! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
40 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Parts! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abbott misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Parts.
Parts throws a right and a left that both miss. Abbott closes this distance looking for a takedown but Parts circles away. Abbott has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Abbott misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Parts.
Parts checks a leg kick. Parts paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Brenden Abbott seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Parts misses with a head kick.
Abbott lets loose with a powerful body kick. Parts will feel that in the morning. Parts lands a body shot.
Parts throws a head kick that misses and Abbott counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Parts controlling the position well. Parts is trying to maintain the position but Abbott is very close to passing his half guard. Parts felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Parts is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Abbott lands a nice short elbow. Abbott winds up and cracks Parts with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Abbott wants to pass to mount but Parts is defending the position. Parts slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Abbott content to stall in guard here. Parts trying to keep a closed guard but Abbott is proving a slippery customer.
Abbott is looking to work some ground and pound but Parts has wrist control. Parts can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Abbott controls the pace. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Abbott's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abbott is looking to work some ground and pound but Parts has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abbott postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Parts moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Abbott throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Parts pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Abbott shoots for a double leg takedown but Parts sprawls well. He's pushed Abbott's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Parts misses with a low kick. Abbott takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Abbott scores with a nice right hand.
It looks like Tony Parts has been cut. Abbott tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Parts misses its intended target. Parts throws a leg kick and Abbott counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Abbott tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Tony Parts is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Parts pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Abbott back to the cage. Parts follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
It looks like Brenden Abbott has been cut. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Abbott moves out of range of the leg kick from Parts. Parts moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Abbott throws a front kick aimed at Parts's knee but Parts avoids it well. Parts lands a head shot. Good work by Abbott as he checks the leg kick. Parts blocks a head kick by Abbott.

A close round but Tony Parts will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Abbott throws a hook to the side of Parts's head but Parts sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Parts moves out of range as Abbott strikes. Abbott pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Parts throws out a counter right but Abbott avoids it with no problem. Parts chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Abbott can pounce on him.
Abbott moves forwards but Parts connects with a nice, crisp jab. Abbott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Parts sees it coming and avoids it easily. Abbott throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Abbott throws a sloppy head kick and Parts moves out of range easily. Parts tries to work over Abbott's front leg with a kick but Abbott checks it. A little feinted left hand from Abbott on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Abbott thuds his right hand into Parts's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Parts throws a big shot that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Parts scores with a push kick. Abbott takes a swing at Parts's ribcage but misses. Abbott throws a lazy right hand but Parts sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Parts looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. An inside leg kick lands from Parts. Parts takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parts throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Parts jabbing away but nothing is landing. Parts fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Abbott is out of range. Parts with a jab. Tony Parts seems to be getting the better of the standup. Abbott moves out of range of the strikes. Parts connects with a right hand. Abbott shakes it off. Parts connects with a leg kick. Abbott looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Parts looks to throw the jab but Abbott is out of range. Parts throws a quick inside leg kick. Abbott turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Abbott throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Abbott scores with a jab. Parts acknowledges it with a nod of the head. A punch combination from Parts misses. Abbott drops down looking for a counter takedown but Parts sprawls and moves away. Abbott throws out a loose jab but Parts uses good head movement to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Abbott ducks under a wild hook from Parts. A combination from Abbott does no damage. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Parts misses with a looping right. Abbott takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Abbott throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Parts avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Abbott scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A good leg kick by Abbott. Parts does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Parts moves out of range of the body kick. Parts walks into a stiff left hand from Abbott. Parts misses with a straight left. Parts walks into a left hand. Nice shot lands for Abbott. Abbott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Abbott showed some decent athleticism there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Abbott perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Parts wants to improve his position but Abbott is controlling well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Parts manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Abbott manages to get himself to full guard.
Parts has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Abbott is proving hard to escape from. Parts decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Abbott, up you get! Abbott stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Abbott slips a straight right by Parts. Abbott slips a straight right by Parts. Parts loads up on a big right hand but Abbott slips the punch. Abbott half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Abbott. A nice leg kick lands there from Abbott. Abbott connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Abbott scoring well with a low kick there.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Abbott. Parts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abbott circles away quickly and effectively. Parts comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Parts misses with a wild body shot. Abbott buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abbott connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Parts misses with a hook
and Abbott counters with a leg kick. Abbott lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Abbott keeps the fight on the outside. Abbott ducks under a wild hook from Parts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Parts clobbers Abbott with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. A punch lands to the side of Parts 's head but he takes it in his stride. A low kick from Abbott misses and Parts counters with a right hand to the body. Abbott throws a low kick but Parts avoids it. Abbott swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Parts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A head kick misses from Abbott. Abbott gets a takedown into half guard. Parts preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. Abbott is thwarting Parts's attempts to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parts tries to get to full guard but Abbott has control of the leg. Abbott is controlling the pace.
Parts is refusing to be controlled, as Abbott sits in half guard. Parts is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Abbott scores with a couple of nice shots.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Abbott goes for a double leg but Parts avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Parts continues to drive forward. A little jabbing left from Parts on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Abbott throws a push kick but Parts slaps the foot to one side. Parts's corner calls for a 1-2. Parts obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Parts ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abbott moves away. Abbott drops down looking for a counter takedown but Parts sprawls and moves away. Abbott waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Parts. Abbott dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Parts. That did some damage! Parts uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Abbott has time to react. Parts lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Abbott backs up against the cage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Abbott keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Parts. Parts checks a low kick from Abbott. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Parts! But no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but Brenden Abbott did the better work so I'd imagine he'll take it. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Abbott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Parts sees it coming and avoids it easily. Abbott looks to land a right hand but Parts moved out of range. Parts throws out a loose jab but Abbott uses good head movement to avoid it. Parts's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Parts moves out of range of the strikes. Abbott backing away here, and Parts unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Parts throws a wild body kick that Abbott sees coming a mile off. Abbott fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Parts swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Abbott fails with the takedown. Nice straight punches there by Parts. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Parts. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A swing and a miss from Abbott. Left hook, right uppercut from Parts. A clash of legs there as Parts blocks the low kick. Parts lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That's one minute gone in the round. Parts throws a body shot but no joy. Abbott tries to move into range but Parts moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Parts will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Abbott throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Parts connects with a right hand. Abbott shakes it off. Parts throws a lazy uppercut
and Abbott connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Abbott connects with a body shot that sends Parts's belly button to the back. Abbott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Parts moves away. Parts is looking to chop away at Abbott's legs. Abbott attempts a counter takedown but Parts avoids it well and moves away. Abbott stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Parts. Parts connects with an inside leg kick. Parts does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. Parts escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brenden Abbott. That's going to take a lot out of him. Parts throws a low kick but it's checked well by Abbott. Abbott throws a big counter combination but Parts scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Some wild striking there from Parts.

Parts displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Abbott. A looping hook to the body misses from Abbott. Parts does a little dance to reset his feet. Parts has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Abbott is working away from the top position though. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Abbott tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Parts connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Parts lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abbott circles away quickly and effectively. Abbott fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Parts digs a good body shot into Abbott's ribs. Abbott swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Parts was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Parts feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Abbotts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Abbott cracks the inside of Parts's front leg. Parts missing with a left hand there. Abbott was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Parts lands a jab to Abbott's midsection. Abbott stuns Parts with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. This has been an exciting period of action! He turned his hip over nicely there. Parts tries to bum rush Abbott with a series of wild strikes but Abbott uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Abbott changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Brenden Abbott. I think Abbott has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
