Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Humberto Boyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ralf Kowohl! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kowohl will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kowohl throws a body punch but Boyle moves out of range. Kowohl tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Boyle swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. Kowohl wants to clinch. Boyle tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kowohl manages to circle out of the way. Kowohl tries to close the distance and clinch but Boyle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kowohl fails with the takedown. Kowohl tries to keep at a distance but Boyle has taken the fight into the clinch.

Boyle jumps guard but Kowohl stands there with Boyle around his waist. Boyle gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Boyle is pressed up against the cage. Kowohl has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Boyle down to the mat. Boyle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Humberto Boyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ralf Kowohl. Kowohl tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boyle swivels and escapes. Boyle seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Kowohl bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Boyle's head backwards.
It looks like Humberto Boyle has been cut. Kowohl tries to close the distance and clinch but Boyle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Kowohl just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBoyle. Kowohl tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Boyle swivels and escapes. Boyle seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Kowohl is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Kowohl moves in looking to clinch but Boyle pushes him off. Kowohl is looking to slow Boyle down with leg kicks. Boyle stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boyle wants it to stay on the feet. Boyle appears to be looking for a big counter. Kowohl shoots in for a double leg but Boyle sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kowohl is looking to clinch. Kowohl wants to clinch and Boyle counters with a left and a right that stings Kowohl. Kowohl misses with a two punch combination.

Kowohl gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Boyle counters by clinching up. Boyle decides to pull guard. Kowohl wants to control from the top but Boyle keeps moving. Boyle is controlling Kowohl's posture. Kowohl must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boyle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Boyle not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kowohl works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Kowohl tries to score a body lock takedown but Boyle shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Boyle manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kowohl is breathing heavily. Boyle with the ground and pound from mount. Kowohl wants to control but Boyle is having none of it. Boyle controlling the pace for now.

Kowohl is desperately trying to improve his position but Boyle has a good base and remains in mount. Boyle is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Kowohl has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Is there anything that Kowohl can do to turn this around? Boyle is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Boyle slaps away a takedown attempt from Kowohl, before circling back to the center of the mat. Boyle throws a big counter combination but Kowohl scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kowohl will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kowohl shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boyle pinned against the cage. Boyle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Kowohl tries to pull guard but Boyle forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Boyle has Kowohl pressed against the cage, preventing Kowohl from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kowohl prevents a body shot from Boyle. Kowohl is fighting to break Boyle's control of his arms but Boyle is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Kowohl trying to control but Boyle is working from the bottom.

Boyle keeping moving, preventing Kowohl from controlling successfully. Boyle is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowohl wants to get up but he can't break Boyle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Boyle doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kowohl wants to control from the top but Boyle keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Nice sprawl there from Boyle as Kowohl shoots in. Boyle tries to clinch up but Kowohl circles away and keeps his distance. Kowohl doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Kowohl rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Boyle makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Kowohl with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Boyle to score with a decent uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kowohl fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Boyle closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kowohl's guard. Kowohl being controlled here, momentarily. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kowohl has a closed guard, preventing Boyle from standing up.
And that's the end of the fight! Humberto Boyle showed his dominance in that final round. Well Boyle has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
