Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Theo Matthews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dean Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matthews goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Matthews feints and as Anderson raises his hands in defense, Matthews changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Anderson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Matthews is controlling him.
Matthews keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Anderson's head.

Matthews avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Matthews missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Matthews stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Matthews closes the distance and clinches up with Anderson, looking for a takedown. Matthews pushes Anderson against the cage but Anderson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Matthews shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Matthews was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Matthews throws out a leg kick but Anderson moves out of range and Matthews only half commits.
Matthews seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Matthews tries to close the distance and clinch up but Anderson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It seemed like Anderson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

No joy there for Matthews, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Matthews closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Anderson's guard.

Matthews got a little sloppy there for a moment and Anderson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Matthews has managed to get both his arms back between Anderson's legs - danger averted.

Matthews throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Matthews circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Anderson drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Matthews follows Anderson to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:27 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Theo Matthews!
Theo Matthews is the new super heavyweight champion!
A relieved looking Theo Matthews thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
