Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Alvarez Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flavio Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Banner's entrance music is Raining Blood by Slayer. A fine choice. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
39 - 23 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bruce Alvarez Banner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
38 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Flavio Sandoval! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sandoval shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sandoval showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are battling for position here. Banner manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Sandoval throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Sandoval preventing the sweep. Sandoval looking to pass the guard. Banner working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Sandoval. Sandoval preventing the sweep. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sandoval's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Banner wants to sweep here but Sandoval controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sandoval passes Banner's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Sandoval is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Banner is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring), so we'll see if he gets out of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banner is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sandoval's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sandoval's back! Sandoval trying to get back to his feet but Banner is in full control for now. Sandoval looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Banner is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Sandoval. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped. Banner lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Sandoval.

Sandoval fails with the takedown. Banner finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Sandoval is looking for the big counter here. Nice straight punches there by Sandoval. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sandoval. Banner blocks a head kick by Sandoval.
Banner throws a low kick but Sandoval avoids it. Sandoval leaves Banner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Banner throws a combination. Sandoval tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Sandoval avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sandoval shoots in and bounces Banner off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Banner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sandoval can do to turn this around? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sandoval throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Banner escapes and throws Sandoval's legs to the side, diving into side control! Sandoval takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Banner scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sandoval to see if he's OK. Banner is looking to take a break and control but Sandoval is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandoval wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Sandoval tries to bench press Banner off him but Banner keeps the position. Sandoval is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Banner off and has taken his back! Sandoval looking for the choke but no joy. Sandoval is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Banner is defending well though. Sandoval let's go of the attempt for now. Flavio Sandoval showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Banner's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
A punch combination from Banner misses. Banner misses with a takedown attempt - Sandoval sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Banner tries to land a front kick but Sandoval steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Sandoval throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Sandoval content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Sandoval passes Banner's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Banner is staying active underneath Sandoval, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Banner blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sandoval. Sandoval is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Banner doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Sandoval. Sandoval is working for a kimura but Banner is defending it quite comfortably.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Banner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Banner pulls Sandoval in close to prevent any damage. Sandoval trying to control but Banner is working from the bottom. Sandoval is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sandoval with a flurry of punches that miss. Banner pulls Sandoval in close to prevent any damage. Sandoval drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sandoval jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Flavio Sandoval comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Sandoval has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
