Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josu Ander! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Russian Experiment I! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ander tries for a takedown but Experiment I sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Josu Ander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A telegraphed right hand from Experiment I misses the target. Ander shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Experiment I throws a hook but Ander blocks it. Ander thows a body shot but no joy. Ander swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Experiment I throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ander on the side of the head. Ander changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Experiment I looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Experiment I tries to improve position but can't. Experiment I is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ander lands an elbow.
It looks like Russian Experiment I has been cut. Ander is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Experiment I knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Experiment I avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Ander.

Ander's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Ander wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Experiment I avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Experiment I wants to stand and escape but Ander is having none of it. Ander passes Experiment I's left leg - he's now in half guard. It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Experiment I has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ander is really squeezing tight and eventually Experiment I passes out! Ander breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
