Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Craig Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Victor Wong will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Craig Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Victor Wong!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
Wong stuffs the takedown attempt from Jones. Jones gets slowly back to his feet.
Jones throws a head kick that half lands.
Wong waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jones.
Jones tries to counter with a takedown but Wong is quick to defend against it.
Wong pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Jones thows a body kick. Wong tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Wong tries to close the distance and clinch but Jones swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wong keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jones.
As Jones backs off Wong throws a huge counter combo but Jones manages to avoid it all.
Wong chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jones can pounce on him.
Wong wants to clinch.

Craig Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wong tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Wong takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Wong checks a leg kick.

Jones closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jones lands in his opponent's guard.
Jones is fighting to break Wong's control of his arms but Wong is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Wong tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jones is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Wong is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Wong has escaped and now he's on top!

Wong trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jones is looking to sweep but instead, Wong has passed into half guard.
Jones is not content to let Wong control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.
Wong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jones throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Wong escapes and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Wong really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Jones can't do much from the bottom here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Jones takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wong has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Jones goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Jones.
Wong checks the leg kick.
Wong fails with an attempt to clinch.
As Wong tries to get set, Jones tries to push him back and clinch up but Wong manages to avoid the attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wong looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

As Jones backs off Wong throws a huge counter combo but Jones manages to avoid it all.

Wong moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
It appears Jones was looking to counter with a kick there.
Jones could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wong is fending him off so far but Jones persists. Nope, Wong circles away and we're back to standing.

Wong clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage.

Jones has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Wong is trying to keep an underhook but Jones manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Wong is trying to stand up here but Jones is controlling him well.

Jones is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wong!

Jones is looking to work his way around to Wong's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Wong has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Jones's lack of action.
Wong has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
Jones is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Wong can do to turn this around?

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Wong is defending well.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Wong keeps working.
Wong makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wong.
Craig Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Wong wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

Wong is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jones is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wong tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.

Jones drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wong wants to get back to his feet but Jones drags him back down.

Jones thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Wong has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jones but great work by Wong.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jones sneaks back into half guard.

Jones actively working from the bottom here.
Wong perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wong seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Wong tries to stand and escape but Jones is controlling the position.

Wong postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Jones to stand up.

Wong is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Jones misses with a body kick.
Jones throws out a loose jab but Wong uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Wong gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the cage.

Wong rushes Jones and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Wong manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Wong digs a right hand underneath Jones's ribcage. Jones let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Jones is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Wong is defending well for now.
Wong misses with a hook to the ribs.
Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Wong uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jones has a couple of punches blocked by Wong.
Jones misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Wong.

Wong breaks the clinch.
Wong misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wong tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Wong sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Craig Jones.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
