Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Trenton Todd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Hottinger!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hottinger shoots for a takedown but Todd saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Todd tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hottinger manages to circle out of the way.
Hottinger clinches.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Todd as Hottinger tries to tie him up.
Hottinger jumps guard.
Hottinger controlling Todd's posture.
Todd throwing strikes from guard but Hottinger blocks nicely.
Todd gets to his feet - Hottinger follows without any prompting.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hottinger moves into the clinch.
Todd tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hottinger just stands there and leans against the cage.
Hottinger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hottinger throws a sloppy head kick and Todd moves out of range easily.
Hottinger shoots in looking for a takedown. Todd tries to sprawl out of it but Hottinger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Todd manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Todd throws a big counter combination but Hottinger scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Hottinger throws a body punch but Todd moves out of range.
Hottinger misses with a takedown attempt - Todd sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Trenton Todd has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Hottinger.
Hottinger has Todd up against the cage in a clinch.
Hottinger tries to pull guard but Todd won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Todd tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Hottinger smiles and moves away.
John Hottinger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hottinger forces Todd back against the cage and clinches.
Todd has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hottinger after a bit of a struggle.
Todd could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Todd gets underhooks to prevent Hottinger's takedown attempt.
Todd jumps guard.
Hottinger has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Todd to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Hottinger is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Todd pulls down on the head and he's put Hottinger to sleep! This one is all over!
