Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vergil Cry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Didion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vergil Cry has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vergil Cry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Zach Didion!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cry fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Didion to the ground. Cry is now in Didion's guard.
Cry controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cry wants to control from the top but Didion keeps moving.
Cry definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Didion avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cry won't allow Didion to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cry throws a big right hand that misses.
Didion keeping moving, preventing Cry from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cry tries to clinch but Didion is having none of it.
Didion throws a lazy right hand but Cry sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Cry gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Didion is not content to let Cry control the position.
Didion tries to kick Cry off but Cry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cry perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Didion trying to control here.
Didion is looking for a sweep. Cry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Didion looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cry prevents Didion from improving his position.
Cry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Didion keeps working.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cry takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Cry gets tackled into the cage by Didion. Didion maintains the clinch.

Didion breaks from the clinch.
Cry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Didion moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cry dodges the punch combination from Didion.
Cry tries to counter with a takedown but Didion is quick to defend against it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Cry bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Didion's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Didion digs a good hook to Cry's body.
Didion jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Cry throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Didion was covering up waiting for the punch and Cry finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Cry drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Didion dives on top into guard.

Didion won't allow Cry to sweep him here.
Cry is trying to keep Didion in close.

Cry had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Didion defends it easily.
Didion postures up in Cry's guard and throws a big left but Cry blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Didion's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Didion slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Didion swings around for an armbar but Cry sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Didion's guard.
Cry wants to control from the top but Didion keeps moving.

Didion has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Cry has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cry has Didion pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cry pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Didion tumbling to the mat - Cry dives into Didion's guard.
Didion is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vergil Cry will probably get the nod.

Cry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Cry seems to be looking for submissions.
Cry is trying to control. Didion wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Didion tries to kick Cry off but Cry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Cry is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cry looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cry tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Didion.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Didion on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Cry throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Vergil Cry overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Cry is working for a kimura but Didion is defending it quite comfortably.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Didion wants to get back to full guard.
Cry landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Didion is trying to maintain the position but Cry is very close to passing his half guard.
Didion regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Cry.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cry postures up.
Cry throwing strikes but missing.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Cry tries to close the distance and clinch but Didion swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Didion gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Cry gets a clinch.

Cry has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Didion regains guard immediately.
Cry in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Didion keeping moving, preventing Cry from controlling successfully.
Cry scoring with punches to the head and body.
Cry looking to pass the guard.
Cry throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cry connects with a couple of short punches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Didion is trying to keep Cry in close.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vergil Cry dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Didion fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Zach Didion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Didion looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Didion gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Cry tries to free his leg and advance position but Didion is retaining full guard.
Didion keeping moving, preventing Cry from controlling successfully.
Didion is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Didion has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Cry off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Didion closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cry quickly recovers to half guard.

Cry is trying to stand up here but Didion is controlling him well.

Didion is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Cry actively working from the bottom here.
Didion is thwarting Cry's attempts to control the position.
Didion trying to control from Cry's half guard. Cry has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

Cry escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Didion gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Didion tries to free his leg and advance position but Cry is retaining full guard.

Cry looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Didion thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Didion trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cry thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Cry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Didion keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Didion tries to get to full guard but Cry has control of the leg.

Cry seems to be working for a kimura but Didion defends the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cry looking to sit in guard and control but Didion gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Vergil Cry is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Didion trying to stand up but can't free himself from Cry's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cry utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Didion won't allow Cry to sweep him here.

Cry working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Didion doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Didion manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

I think Cry has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
