Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jonathan Lane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Diego Fernadez!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Ivan Kurochkin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lane ducks under a wild hook from Fernadez.
Fernadez closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Fernadez throws a nice looking combination but Lane bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lane wants to clinch up but Fernadez keeps it at a distance.
Fernadez shoots in but Lane avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Diego Fernadez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fernadez misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Lane counters by moving into the clinch.

Fernadez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lane has him pressed against the cage.

Lane gets control of Fernadez's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lane will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lane shoots in but Fernadez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Fernadez looks to land a combination but Lane avoids it well.
Lane seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Lane fails in his attempt to clinch.
Lane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fernadez tries to avoid it but Lane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fernadez to the ground. Fernadez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lane sets himself, and Fernadez steps forward looking for the clinch! Lane avoids it this time.
Fernadez thuds a left hand into Lane's body.
Lane throws a body punch but Fernadez moves out of range.
Fernadez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Lane misses with a takedown attempt - Fernadez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Fernadez throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lane lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Lane fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Lane dodges the punch combination from Fernadez.
Fernadez misses with a straight right.
Lane shoots in looking for a takedown. Fernadez tries to sprawl out of it but Lane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Fernadez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Fernadez misses with a takedown attempt - Lane sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A little feinted left hand from Lane on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Fernadez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lane closes the distance and clinches.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Lane looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Lane is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lane looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Lane thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
We've been informed that Fernadez has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lane trying to keep a closed guard but Fernadez is proving a slippery customer.
Lane has momentary wrist control but Fernadez slips an elbow through the middle.
Lane is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fernadez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lane looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Lane wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Fernadez throws a strike but Lane rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Fernadez wants to stand up but Lane is controlling him.
Lane is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Lane tries to close the distance and clinch but Fernadez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lane throws a front kick that sends Fernadez stumbling back into the cage.
Lane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fernadez but Fernadez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lane on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Lane slips a jab and a cross from Fernadez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lane shoots in for a takedown but Fernadez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Lane is rocked!
Lane drops his hands for a split second and Fernadez immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Lane face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Fernadez follows up with a right hand that knocks Lane into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!

Diego Fernadez seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
