Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lamar Oakley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vernell Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lamar Oakley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vernell Williams! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oakley tries a low kick but Williams avoids it. Oakley throws out a loose jab but Williams uses good head movement to avoid it. Williams slips under a jab. Oakley throws the left hand but Williams avoids the punch easily. Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Williams is trying hard to land a takedown here. Oakley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Oakley swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Oakley waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Williams. Williams pushes Oakley up against the cage in a clinch. Oakley tries to land knees in the clinch but Williams avoids the damage to the body. Williams pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Williams shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Oakley defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Williams pushes Oakley away with a front kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Williams closes the distance and clinches. Williams avoids the elbow strike from Oakley, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Oakley just misses with a elbow thrown towards Williams's brow. Williams works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Williams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Williams thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Oakley is pulling down on Williams's head to control his posture. Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Williams decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Williams moves into the clinch. Williams turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Williams manages to end up in side control. Williams has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Williams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Oakley knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oakley is trying to control Williams's posture but Williams avoids it. Oakley trying to control but Williams flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Oakley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Williams on the ground. Williams looking for the choke from the back. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Oakley is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Williams patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Williams looking for the choke but no joy. Williams thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Williams has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Oakley rolls, trying to escape but Williams keeps control of the position.
Williams is not going to allow Oakley to sit and survive in this position. Williams has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Oakley has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Williams has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Oakley! Can he survive? No! He's out! Williams gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
