Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mica Makaaja (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makaaja kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is BassLovers United - I Can't Dance. The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: The Mercenary. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mica Makaaja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Terry Smith! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Makaaja shoots in and drives through. Smith sprawls well. Smith tries a low kick but Makaaja avoids it. Makaaja tries for a takedown but Smith circles away easily and Smith counters with a crisp one two that drops Makaaja! Smith thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Makaaja to his feet! Makaaja is in big trouble! Makaaja shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mica Makaaja. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Smith throws a combination that misses and Makaaja counters with a nice double leg into side control. Smith won't be happy with that. Makaaja working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. This has been an exciting period of action! You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Makaaja goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Smith has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Makaaja but great work by Smith. Makaaja tries to buck Smith off but Smith is having none of it. Makaaja wants to control but Smith postures up. Smith is staying tight to Makaaja's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Makaaja tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Smith wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Makaaja trying to remain calm as Smith controls from the top position. Makaaja is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Smith off and has taken his back! Smith is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Makaaja off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted. Smith is really stuck here.
Smith has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Makaaja tightening his grip on Smith, looking for the choke. Smith is in bad spot here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard. Smith is stalling in the full guard. Makaaja has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Makaaja has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Makaaja's legs - danger averted. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Makaaja is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makaaja looking for subs off his back but Smith has passed one foot through into half guard.
Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Makaaja keeps working. Makaaja actively working from the bottom here. Smith looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Makaaja is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Terry Smith will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Makaaja gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Smith counters with a right hand to the body. Makaaja keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Terry Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Nice body punch from Smith. Smith lands a left and a right that send Makaaja crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Makaaja is rocked!
It looks like Mica Makaaja has been cut. Terry Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup. Smith fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Makaaja to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Makaaja looks to clinch but Smith throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Makaaja taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
