The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thesz throws a body shot but no joy.
A big right from Thesz misses.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Thesz.
Despite the aggression on Lei's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Lei throws a wild body kick that Thesz sees coming a mile off.
Thesz misses with a kick to the body.
Lei is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
A big left from Thesz misses.
Lei has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thesz is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Lei connects with a high kick.
Lei misses with a body kick.
Good leg kick by Thesz there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Lei slips a jab and a cross from Thesz.
Lei replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Thesz blocks it well.
Lei rushes Thesz and presses him up against the ropes.
Thesz misses with a punch to the body.
Thesz avoiding damage as Lei throws knees to the body.
Thesz blocks an elbow strike.
Thesz pulls Lei into guard.
Thesz has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Lei should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Thesz has tightened it up now! Lei should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
