Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ariel Piechocki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Snijder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piechocki's entrance music is Thunder . A fine choice. The key to victory for Ariel Piechocki has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ariel Piechocki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brandon Snijder!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Snijder shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Piechocki as he jumps to the side.
As Snijder looks to move away, Piechocki throws a big counter combo bu Snijder just gets out of the way.
Piechocki stuffs the takedown.
Snijder shoots in but no luck this time.
Ariel Piechocki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brandon Snijder.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snijder closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Snijder tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Piechocki is trying to get back to half guard.
Piechocki wants to control but Snijder postures up.
Snijder wants to stand but Piechocki has his arm trapped.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Piechocki is trying to improve his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Snijder is looking to take a break and control but Piechocki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Piechocki is looking to regain half guard here but Snijder keeps moving and retains side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Piechocki keeps the fight on the outside.
Snijder tries for a takedown but Piechocki circles away easily
and Piechocki counters with a one-two to the body.

Snijder throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Piechocki was covering up waiting for the punch and Snijder finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Piechocki is trying to control the position but Snijder postures up.
Snijder wants to control from the top but Piechocki keeps moving.

Snijder postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Piechocki is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Snijder, into his guard.

Piechocki wants to stand and escape but instead Snijder has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Piechocki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Snijder's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Snijder keeping moving, preventing Piechocki from controlling successfully.

Snijder has his foot on Piechocki's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Piechocki works his way back into a safe position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brandon Snijder will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Snijder throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Piechocki tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Snijder is in Piechocki's guard.

Snijder drops back, looking for a kneebar! Piechocki looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Piechocki looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Piechocki!

Piechocki has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Snijder is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Piechocki has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Snijder shoots in for a takedown but Piechocki shows good takedown defense.

Snijder misses with an uppercut. Piechocki saw that one coming.

Brandon Snijder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Snijder shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Snijder tries a head kick but it misses.
Snijder shoots for a takedown but Piechocki saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Piechocki is looking for a counter combo.
The fight stays on the outside here - Snijder looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Piechocki appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

A quick step to the side and Piechocki tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ariel Piechocki.
I think Piechocki has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
