PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Sung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Pasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sung comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sam Sung!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Adrian Pasco!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Sung or perhaps it was just good defense by Pasco which made him look bad.

Sung shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pasco tries to kick Sung off but Sung keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Sung is stalling here. Pasco is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sung seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pasco has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Pasco decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Sung fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sung throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pasco's waist but Pasco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sung off to one side.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Pasco wants to control but Sung is keeping him busy.

Pasco is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pasco wants to free his trapped foot but Sung is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Pasco counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Sung had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pasco is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sung Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pasco's back instead.

Sung has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Sung is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Pasco has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Pasco breaks Sung's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pasco thows a big elbow that misses.

Sung is looking for a triangle but Pasco pushes his legs off easily.

Sung looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pasco passes into side control.
Pasco landing a few strikes.

Sung tries to buck Pasco off but Pasco is having none of it.
Sung regains half guard.
Sung desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Pasco wants to stand up but Sung has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Sung manages to get to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sung has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pasco can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Adrian Pasco will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Sung moves into range and clinches up with Pasco.

Sung breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pasco looks for a takedown but Sung sprawls well.

Pasco wants to take his opponent's back but Sung doesn't allow it.

Sung is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pasco lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Pasco is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Sung staying busy and making it hard for Pasco to control.
Pasco is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Adrian Pasco has got the better of the ground game so far.

Sung is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Pasco gets his way!

Pasco is persistently looking for the submission but Sung is defending it well.

Sung tries to escape but Pasco has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Pasco has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Sung's body.

Sung slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

You can see the frustration on Pasco's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Sung takes a little break here. Pasco wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Pasco takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Adrian Pasco showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Sung looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Sung throws a big right hand that misses.
Sung trying to control the position from guard on top but Pasco is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sung gets a clinch.

Sung jumps into guard, dragging Pasco to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sung is trying to control the position but Pasco postures up.
Sung is pulling down on Pasco's head to control his posture.
Pasco looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Sung working for submissions but it's allowed Pasco to get to half guard.
Sung tries to roll over but Pasco keeps him under control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sung shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sung was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pasco is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Pasco is trying desperately to improve position.
Sung trying to control but Pasco is having none of it.
Pasco tries to lock up and control but Sung gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Pasco is in all sorts of trouble here.

Sung stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Pasco wants to clinch

and Sung counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Sung prevents Pasco from getting back to his feet.
Pasco controls Sung momentarily but Sung frees himself.
Sung is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Sung thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Sung not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sam Sung has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sung will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Pasco is trying to keep Sung in close.
