Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Mctanned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigori Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rasputin has chosen Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Mctanned! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Grigori Rasputin! The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Anni Minnemäki and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Mctanned shoots in for a takedown but Rasputin shows good takedown defense. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rasputin! But no joy. Mctanned misses with a takedown attempt - Rasputin sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Mctanned shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rasputin napping and manages to drive through into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mctanned wants to take a breather but Rasputin manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Mctanned. Rasputin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. We've been hearing that Mctanned has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rasputin managing to control the position. Rasputin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Rasputin seems keen to control Mctanned's posture. Rasputin wants to sweep here but Mctanned controlling him for the moment. Mctanned wants to control from the top but Rasputin keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Rasputin is trying to control the position but Mctanned postures up. Rasputin controlling Mctanned's posture. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Mctanned wants to pass the guard but Rasputin is keeping the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Rasputin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A big left from Rasputin misses. Mctanned looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Mctanned works over Rasputin with some ground and pound from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mctanned wants to pass the guard but Rasputin is keeping the position. Rasputin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Rasputin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mctanned trying to control but Rasputin is working from the bottom. Mctanned in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Rasputin keeping moving, preventing Mctanned from controlling successfully. Mctanned with a flurry of punches that miss. Rasputin looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Mctanned looking to pass the guard. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Rasputin wants to sweep here but Mctanned controlling him for the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rasputin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

It looks like Paul Mctanned has been cut. Rasputin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Mctanned is landing a low percentage of strikes. Mctanned misses with a takedown and Mctanned takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Paul Mctanned will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Paul Mctanned's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Rasputin keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. As Mctanned backs off Rasputin throws a huge counter combo but Mctanned manages to avoid it all. Mctanned shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rasputin pinned against the cage. Rasputin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mctanned with a lazy takedown attempt and Rasputin counters with a nice right hand that sends Mctanned toppling to the canvas! Mctanned scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Rasputin finish him?! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Mctanned. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mctanned shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rasputin pinned against the cage. Rasputin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mctanned closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mctanned lands in his opponent's guard. Paul Mctanned overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Rasputin wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rasputin is pulling down on Mctanned's head. It's preventing any offense from Mctanned, at least for the moment. Mctanned throws an elbow that misses. Rasputin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mctanned's guard. Nice move by Rasputin! Rasputin is working Mctanned over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Rasputin wants to pass the guard but Mctanned is keeping the position. Mctanned had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rasputin defends it easily. Rasputin trying to control but Mctanned is working from the bottom. Mctanned lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mctanned throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Rasputin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mctanned tries to roll over but Rasputin keeps him under control. Mctanned looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Rasputin is keen to just control but Mctanned is a slippery customer. Mctanned wants to get back to full guard. Rasputin works his foot free and advances to mount. Mctanned is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mctanned regains half guard. Mctanned is trying to get back to full guard. Mctanned regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Rasputin. Rasputin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Rasputin with a nice head shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grigori Rasputin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Paul Mctanned's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mctanned is defended easily by Rasputin. Rasputin swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Grigori Rasputin seems to be getting the better of the standup. Mctanned shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rasputin but Rasputin pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big left from Rasputin misses. Rasputin throws an overhand right that lands on Mctanned's shoulder, as Mctanned tries to avoid the shot. Rasputin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Mctanned feinted with a counter takedown. Rasputin bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mctanned's head. Mctanned closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rasputin to the mat! Rasputin manages to get full guard. Mctanned wants to pass the guard but Rasputin is keeping the position.

Rasputin is adopting a defensive guard. Mctanned wants to pass the guard but Rasputin is keeping the position. Mctanned scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Mctanned pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rasputin is keeping the position for now. Mctanned trying to control but Rasputin is working from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mctanned throws an elbow that misses. Rasputin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Mctanned's guard. Nice move by Rasputin!
Mctanned has his foot on Rasputin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rasputin works his way back into a safe position though. Mctanned avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Mctanned has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rasputin is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mctanned. Mctanned can't do much from the bottom here. Mctanned is looking to reverse the position.

Paul Mctanned's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Rasputin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mctanned keeps working. Mctanned dodges the ground and pound from Rasputin. Mctanned manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Mctanned looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Rasputin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mctanned's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rasputin prevents Mctanned from improving his position. Rasputin sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mctanned defending well though. Mctanned on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Grigori Rasputin made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'My abbey brew is waiting for me. Maybe my opponents should try it. Seems to work for me. '. Paul Mctanned spoke after the fight, saying 'The Future will be better next time'.
