The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deadwood feints and then cracks Čern�'s leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Čern� down.
Deadwood looks to throw the jab but Čern� is out of range.
Čern� closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Čern� tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Deadwood dodges the ground and pound from Čern�.
Čern� is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Deadwood is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Čern� looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Deadwood throws out a leg kick but Čern� moves out of range and Deadwood only half commits.

Čern� changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deadwood looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Čern� is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Deadwood defends it well.

Čern� looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Deadwood with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
It looks like Derrick Deadwood has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Čern� is looking for a kimura here.
Čern� is taking a breather. Deadwood says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Deadwood tries to clinch up but Čern� circles away and keeps his distance.
Čern� drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Deadwood defends it well.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Deadwood throws a head kick that Čern� semi-blocks.

Čern� closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Čern� lands in his opponent's guard.
Deadwood wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Čern� shoots in and bounces Deadwood off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Čern� got a little sloppy there for a moment and Deadwood has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Čern� has managed to get both his arms back between Deadwood's legs - danger averted.
