Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keneth Byers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joe Blow!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blow misses with a head kick.
Byers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Byers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Byers clinches.

Blow is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Byers can't fight it off and eventually Blow manages to take the fight to the floor. Byers looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Blow closes the distance and pushes Byers back into the cage.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Blow has Byers pressed against the cage, preventing Byers from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Byers blocks a jab.
Byers changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Blow shoots in and bounces Byers off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Blow pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

A little jabbing left from Blow on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Blow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Blow jumps into guard, dragging Byers to the mat.
Blow bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Byers's guard.

Blow wants to control from the top but Byers keeps moving.

Byers is looking for a triangle but Blow pushes his legs off easily.

Blow looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Byers with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Byers actively working from the bottom here.
Blow working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Blow passes to side control.

Blow working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Blow is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Byers's shoulder. That is not cool.

Blow is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Byers is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Joe Blow showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Byers's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Blow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Byers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Blow is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Blow has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Blow wants to stand but Byers is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Byers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blow trying to control but Byers is having none of it.

Byers sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Blow wants to stand up but Byers has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Byers is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Blow scores with a couple of nice shots.
Byers is not content to let Blow control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Blow content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Joe Blow comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Blow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
