Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Evgeniy Malkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Renato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malkin comes to the cage accompanied by The Heavy - How You Like Me Now?. Renato has chosen I Want My Tears Back as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Renato on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Renato throws a push kick but Malkin slaps the foot to one side.
Renato takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Renato looks for the body kick but Malkin saw that one coming.
Malkin drops down looking for a counter takedown but Renato sprawls and moves away.
We've been hearing reports that Malkin has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Renato cracks the inside of Malkin's front leg.
Malkin misses with a body shot.
Malkin throws a body shot but no joy.
Malkin shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Renato sprawls well. Renato wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Malkin gets slowly back to his feet.
Renato throws a right hand that Malkin ducks under and follows up with a left that Malkin also avoids with ease.
Renato slips under a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Renato doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Malkin throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Malkin misses with a hook to the body
and Renato counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A jab from Malkin does it's job there.
Malkin throws an overhand right that lands on Renato's shoulder, as Renato tries to avoid the shot.
Tiago Renato is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Renato throws a low kick but Malkin avoids it.
Renato fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Malkin checks it well.
Malkin throws a body punch but Renato moves out of range.
Malkin wants to land a leg kick but Renato is out of range.
Renato throws a push kick but Malkin slaps the foot to one side.
Malkin keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Renato.
Renato sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Malkin blocks a head kick by Renato.
Malkin tries to counter with a takedown but Renato is quick to defend against it.
Renato throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Malkin counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Malkin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Renato knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Malkin passes to full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Renato is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Malkin has taken his back.
Renato is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Malkin off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Renato is keeping busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
