Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Van Der Sluijs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Spiteri might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to AC/DC -TNT. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Spiteri! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Van Der Sluijs! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spiteri attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Van Der Sluijs bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Van Der Sluijs is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Spiteri. Spiteri throws an overhand right that lands on Van Der Sluijs's shoulder, as Van Der Sluijs tries to avoid the shot. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Van Der Sluijs! But no joy. Van Der Sluijs lets loose with a powerful body kick. Spiteri will feel that in the morning. Spiteri misses with a double jab.

Van Der Sluijs fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Spiteri looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Spiteri shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Spiteri is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Spiteri lands a big shot there that rocks Van Der Sluijs but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. You get the feeling that Van Der Sluijs really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Spiteri fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Van Der Sluijs is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Spiteri pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Van Der Sluijs's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Spiteri raining down hammerfists from mount. Spiteri can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Van Der Sluijs is looking to escape. Spiteri controlling the pace for now. You get the feeling that Van Der Sluijs really doesn't like being in this position too much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee warns Van Der Sluijs that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Spiteri trying to control but Van Der Sluijs is having none of it. Spiteri with shots to the head and body - Van Der Sluijs looks very uncomfortable down there. Spiteri postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Van Der Sluijs bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Spiteri and the fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Spiteri! Dave Spiteri really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Bad Man Clothing (Nothing Over $40) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
