Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
22 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Desmond Hume!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens fails with the takedown
and Hume counters with a head kick.
Stevens has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Sydney Fight Team in the buildup to the fight.
Hume fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevens, pushing him back against the ropes.
Hume looking to throw knees to the head but Stevens is blocking nicely.
Stevens jumps guard but Hume stands there with Stevens around his waist. Stevens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hume misses with a knee strike.
Stevens gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hume.
Stevens fails to pull guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Stevens. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stevens pulls guard successfully.
Stevens trying to keep a closed guard but Hume is proving a slippery customer.
Hume throws a big right hand that misses.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Stevens has his foot on Hume's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hume works his way back into a safe position though.
Hume stopping the sweep attempt from Stevens.
Stevens is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hume throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Stevens's body to avoid the submission. Stevens has instead reached around Hume's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Stevens arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
