Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Simon Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jefferson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jefferson Silva is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva gets the takedown into side control.
Rogers wants to control but Silva postures up.
Silva in side control lands a decent elbow.
Rogers is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Silva asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Rogers is trying to control Silva's posture but Silva avoids it.
Rogers stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Rogers tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Silva has control of Rogers's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rogers regains control of the situation pretty easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogers tries to hold on but Silva postures up.
The referee warns Rogers that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

It looks like Simon Rogers has been cut.

Rogers wants to control but Silva is having none of it.
Oh Rogers is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
A big strike lands for Silva! That's really hurt Rogers and he's turned his back - Silva keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Silva jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
