Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neymar Junior!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
We've been hearing reports that Hyrkanian has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Hyrkanian misses with a wild combination.
Hyrkanian slips a jab and a cross from Junior.
Junior slips a straight right by Hyrkanian.
Hyrkanian throws a left and a right that both miss
and Junior counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hyrkanian's knee momentarily.
Junior has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Hyrkanian throws a half hearted mid kick.
Junior jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hyrkanian misses with a straight left.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Both fighters circling a little - Junior finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

and Junior counters with a thumping low kick.
Junior bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Hyrkanian's head backwards.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hyrkanian takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Junior throws a quick inside leg kick.
Hyrkanian shoots and misses
and Junior counters with a nice leg kick.
Junior fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hyrkanian manages to avoid it.
Hyrkanian walks into a straight right hand from Junior.
Hyrkanian takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A jab from Hyrkanian misses.
Junior lands a big right hand that sends Hyrkanian crashing to the mat! Junior stays standing though and waves Hyrkanian back to his feet!
Hyrkanian is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hyrkanian swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Junior counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Hyrkanian off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Junior follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Hyrkanian was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Neymar Junior! Neymar Junior retains his featherweight title!
