Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tourney Champ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Rony Moraes!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moraes moves out of range as Champ strikes.
Champ scores with a crisp jab that stopped Moraes in his tracks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Moraes. Champ does a little dance to reset his feet.
Champ swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Champ closes the distance and pushes Moraes back into the cage.
Moraes is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Champ is keeping busy.
Champ misses with a hook from the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Champ stalls.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moraes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Champ smiles and moves away.
Moraes uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Champ.
Champ looks to land a left hand but Moraes moved out of range nicely.
Moraes just misses with a punch to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Moraes tries to keep at a distance but Champ has taken the fight into the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Champ scores with a nice short uppercut.
Champ lands a left hand.
Champ swings wildly with an uppercut but Moraes uses good head movement to avoid it.

Moraes manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Moraes looking for a sweep. Not yet Moraes, not yet.
Moraes is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Champ is looking to stand up but Moraes won't let him.
Moraes looking for a sweep. Not yet Moraes, not yet.
Champ knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Moraes on the ground.

Moraes looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Champ has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Moraes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Champ is aware though and is defending well.
Champ tries to stand but Moraes is controlling from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moraes looking to hit a scissor sweep but Champ is one step ahead there.

Moraes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Champ gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Moraes has a closed guard, preventing Champ from standing up.

Moraes is looking to cinch up a triangle. Champ throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Moraes's body to avoid the submission. Moraes has instead reached around Champ's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Moraes arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Rony Moraes!
