PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Brandon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Reeves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandon comes to the cage accompanied by All Summer Long. Reeves is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Natural Born Killaz. Ryan Reeves has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buddy Brandon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Reeves!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reeves misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Brandon cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brandon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Reeves throws a body kick that misses.
Brandon throws a big counter combination but Reeves scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Brandon fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Reeves avoids it really well and circles away.
Brandon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reeves swivels and escapes.
Reeves tries to land a leg kick but Brandon saw it coming and moves away.

Brandon closes the distance and clinches.
Brandon on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Reeves tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Brandon avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Reeves tries to land knees in the clinch but Brandon avoids the damage to the body.
Brandon wants to take the fight to the mat but Reeves manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Buddy Brandon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Reeves slows down the pace here.
Brandon tries to pull guard but Reeves won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brandon blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Brandon wants to stall.
Brandon is trying to maintain a safe position but Reeves gets an underhook and turns Brandon into the cage.
Brandon can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Reeves obliges.
Reeves lands a right hand.
Brandon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Brandon is trying to pull guard but Reeves turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Reeves just misses with a elbow thrown towards Brandon's brow.
Reeves gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Brandon tries to score a body lock takedown but Reeves shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Reeves unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Brandon is breathing heavily.
Reeves lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!

Reeves stalling.
Reeves tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Brandon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Reeves walks away with a smile on his face. Brandon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Reeves throws a sloppy head kick and Brandon moves out of range easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reeves misses with a low kick.
Brandon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Reeves connects with an inside leg kick.
Reeves is looking to land body kicks.
Reeves throws an overhand right that lands on Brandon's shoulder, as Brandon tries to avoid the shot.
Reeves missing with a left hand there. Brandon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ryan Reeves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nice uppercut lands for Reeves. That snapped Brandon's head back.
A nice inside leg kick there by Reeves. That's going to slow Brandon down.
Brandon looks for a takedown but Reeves sprawls well.
Reeves lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Reeves throws a monster overhand right that drops Brandon! Reeves follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Reeves!
Ryan Reeves bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
