Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Ponting (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zak Drezner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Drezner has chosen Champions as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ricky Ponting! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
35 - 15 - 4, fighting out of London, Zak Drezner! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ponting misses with a looping left. Ponting cracks Drezner with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Ponting walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Drezner checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Drezner is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Nice uppercut there from Ponting. Ponting misses with a jab, cross combination.
Drezner unleashes a big counter combination but Ponting bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Good shot there by Ponting. Some bone on bone action there as Drezner checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Ponting moves into range and connects with a jab. Ponting moves out of range of the body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ponting throws a combination. Drezner tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Ponting pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Drezner enables Ponting to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Drezner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Ponting trying to control the position from guard on top but Drezner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ponting stops Drezner from standing up. Ponting is looking to work some ground and pound but Drezner has wrist control. Ponting working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Ponting loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Drezner keeping moving, preventing Ponting from controlling successfully. Drezner preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Drezner manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Ponting scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Ponting throws a body punch but Drezner moves out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drezner throws a nice looking combination but Ponting bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ponting listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Ponting tries a head kick but it misses.
Drezner is looking for the big counter here. Drezner misses with a double jab
and Ponting counters with a three punch combo that has Drezner backing up. Drezner nods at Ponting to acknowledge the strikes. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ponting closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drezner circles away. As Ponting backs off Drezner throws a huge counter combo but Ponting manages to avoid it all. Drezner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A swing and a miss from Ponting. No luck for Ponting with that takedown attempt. Drezner counters with a body kick. Ricky Ponting seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ponting is looking to score with low kicks. Ponting throws a right hand that misses
and Drezner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ponting throws a right and a left that Drezner avoids nicely. Sloppy strikes from Drezner. Those never looked like landing. Ponting chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Drezner can pounce on him.
Drezner lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Drezner lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Drezner blocks a head kick by Ponting.
Drezner moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Ponting is rocked! Drezner lands with a big right hook that stumbles Ponting - he's out on his feet here! Drezner follows up with another monster hook that separates Ponting from consciousness! Ponting falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Drezner stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Zak Drezner! Zak Drezner retains his lightweight title!
