Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Corey Waho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sammy Moukako (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Corey Waho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sammy Moukako!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waho is looking to clinch but Moukako is avoiding it.
Moukako lands with a slapping head kick.
Moukako fails in his attempt to clinch.
Waho throws a series of punches but Moukako avoids them all with ease.
Waho shoots in but no luck this time.
Waho looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Waho throws a sloppy head kick

and Moukako counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Waho!

Moukako moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Waho has worked his arm free - good work by Waho!
Waho can't do much from the bottom here.

Waho tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Moukako wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Moukako wants to control but Waho is keeping him busy.

Moukako tries for a kimura but Waho is defending well.
Moukako trying to control the position but Waho is working away.
Moukako might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Waho kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Waho misses with a wild combination.
Waho tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Waho.
Moukako is trying to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moukako is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Moukako looking for a sweep but Waho has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Moukako keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Waho has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Moukako's face.
Moukako is trying to escape the mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Moukako tries to hold on but Waho postures up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Moukako shoots and misses
and Waho counters with a good low kick that Moukako was not able to check.
Waho moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Corey Waho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Waho gets the takedown into side control.
Moukako is trying to improve his position.
Moukako wants to control but Waho postures up.
Moukako tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Moukako is breathing heavily.
Waho taking a breather here.

Waho decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Waho misses with a kick to the body
and Moukako counters with a thumping low kick.
Waho is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Waho lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

Moukako drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Moukako trying to control the action but Waho is working from the bottom.

Moukako goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Waho has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Moukako but great work by Waho.
Waho staying calm.
Moukako is trying to control Waho's posture but Waho avoids it.
Moukako tries to buck Waho off but Waho is having none of it.

Waho looking to control but Moukako is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Waho prevents Moukako from getting the reversal.

Moukako bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Moukako wants to control from the top but Waho keeps moving.
Waho wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Moukako is now in half guard.
Waho trying to hold on to Moukako's head to control him but Moukako postures up.
Still in half guard, Moukako seems content to control.

Moukako is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Waho wants to improve his position but Moukako is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Corey Waho will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Waho throws out a loose jab but Moukako uses good head movement to avoid it.
Moukako takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Corey Waho is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Waho throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Waho throws a chopping leg kick but Moukako manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Moukako closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Waho to the mat! Waho manages to get full guard.

Moukako drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Waho manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Moukako has Waho in his guard.
Moukako wants to hit a switch here but Waho passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Moukako there!
Moukako takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Waho punishing his opponent with strikes.
Moukako is wriggling around trying to escape.

Waho working for a submission but Moukako is keeping him at bay.
Moukako really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Moukako wants to control but Waho is having none of it.
Moukako keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Waho is stalling here but it's allowed Moukako to get half guard.
Moukako is looking for a sweep. Waho is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Moukako tries for a takedown but Waho circles away easily
and Waho counters with a stiff right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Moukako gets a takedown into half guard.
Waho is not content to let Moukako control the position.
Waho wants to get back to full guard.

Moukako is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Moukako with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Moukako wants to free his trapped foot but Waho is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Waho is looking to improve his position.
Waho is in trouble now - Moukako has advanced to mount!
Waho is wriggling around trying to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moukako moves to the back position.

And that's the end of the fight!
Sammy Moukako comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Moukako has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
