The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Barakat crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Sullivan - the referee stops the clock and Barakat gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Sullivan. Barakat manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Barakat throws an overhand right that lands on Sullivan's shoulder, as Sullivan tries to avoid the shot.

Sullivan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Barakat will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Sullivan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Barakat feints and then cracks Sullivan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Sullivan down.

Barakat goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Barakat swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Barakat counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sullivan's knee momentarily.
Sullivan tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Barakat manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The fighters circle, before Barakat throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Sullivan's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Barakat lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Qasim Barakat decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
