Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hammer Hands! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Costea Dinescu! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dinescu misses with a jab, cross combination.
Dinescu lands a jab.
It looks like Hammer Hands has been cut. Hands darts in looking for a takedown but Dinescu gets double underhooks and turns Hands into the ropes. Dinescu drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hands defends it well. Costea Dinescu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dinescu looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hands's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Dinescu connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hands scrambles back to his feet. Some wild striking there from Hands.
Hands shoots in but no luck this time. Dinescu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Hands on his heels. He'll look to pass Hands's guard now, I'm sure. Hands working for a triangle but Dinescu defends it easily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Dinescu accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hands is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dinescu defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dinescu throwing strikes from guard but Hands blocks nicely. Dinescu postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Dinescu trying to control the position from guard on top but Hands is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dinescu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dinescu's corner is telling him to maintain position. Let's hope that Dinescu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Hands wants to stand up but Dinescu is controlling him. Dinescu landing with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hands keeping moving, preventing Dinescu from controlling successfully. Hands is trying to keep Dinescu in close.
Dinescu cracks Hands with a solid left hand. Hands looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dinescu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hands. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Hands keeping moving, preventing Dinescu from controlling successfully. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Dinescu landing some decent shots from guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dinescu with a flurry of punches that miss. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Hands looking to control.

Dinescu is in close to Hands's body, working some short punches and elbows. Hands throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dinescu lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hands avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Dinescu missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hands looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Dinescu lands a couple of elbows. Dinescu landing with the ground and pound.
Hands is rocked! Dinescu sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Hands's guard. Oh Hands is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Dinescu looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Dinescu lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Hands quite badly. Hands pulls Dinescu in close trying to recover. Dinescu postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Hands on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Hands doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Costea Dinescu! An out of breath Costea Dinescu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
