Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marc Zietsch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robin Lehner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marc Zietsch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Robin Lehner!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Zietsch.
Lehner works Zietsch's body with a nice hook.
Lehner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lehner throws a head kick but Zietsch moves out of range.
Zietsch chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lehner can pounce on him.

and Lehner counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Zietsch changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lehner tries to avoid it but Zietsch manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lehner to the ground. Lehner escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Lehner lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Lehner steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Zietsch.
Zietsch throws a head kick that misses.
Lehner is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Zietsch with a body shot.
Zietsch gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lehner.
Zietsch closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Zietsch looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zietsch takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Lehner just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromZietsch.
Lehner avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The fight stays on the outside here - Zietsch looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lehner lands a jab to the head.

Lehner cracks the inside of Zietsch's front leg.
Lehner blocks a head kick by Zietsch.
Lehner lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Marc Zietsch has been cut.
Lehner lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Zietsch misses with a straight left.
Lehner has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Lehner swats away the attempt to clinch by Zietsch.
Lehner tries a quick counter leg kick but Zietsch is wise to it.

Zietsch gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lehner is trying to force a seperation but Zietsch has the dominant position.
Lehner lands a nice uppercut.
A head punch on the inside from Zietsch fails to land.
Zietsch tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Zietsch lands with a light punch inside.

Lehner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A head kick misses from Lehner.
Zietsch will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marc Zietsch. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lehner throws a head kick that Zietsch semi-blocks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zietsch tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lehner swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lehner misses with a low kick.
Lehner lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Zietsch shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lehner but Lehner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lehner tries a quick counter leg kick but Zietsch is wise to it.
Lehner feints and then cracks Zietsch's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zietsch down.

Lehner throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Zietsch lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Zietsch closes the distance and clinches.
Lehner lands a left hand that snaps the head of Zietsch backwards.


Zietsch is rocked!

Lehner's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Oh Zietsch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Marc Zietsch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Zietsch drops his hands momentarily. Lehner doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Zietsch staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Zietsch doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Robin Lehner!
