Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Avreli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elmo Salty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Salty has chosen Gonna Fly Now as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elmo Salty! The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Ackerman and Paul Tew.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Avreli ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Salty moves away. Salty swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Avreli throws a hook but Salty avoids it easily. Salty slips a straight right by Avreli. Salty uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Avreli. Salty has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Salty there as he acknowledges the shot. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Avreli. Salty looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Avreli gets a double leg takedown into Salty's guard. Avreli throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Avreli seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Avreli postures up in Salty's guard and throws a big left but Salty blocks it. Avreli has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Avreli pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Salty is keeping the position for now. Avreli lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Avreli with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Avreli trying to control but Salty is working from the bottom. Avreli connects with a couple of short punches. Avreli is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Avreli slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Avreli accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Avreli missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Avreli lands a couple of elbows.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Avreli prevents Salty from getting back to his feet. Avreli works a leg free and moves into half guard. Salty blocking the ground and pound attempt from Avreli. Salty is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Avreli scores with a couple of nice shots. Salty wants to get back to his feet.
Salty is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Avreli content to control rather than advance. Avreli lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Avreli wants to take a breather but Salty is having none of it.

Avreli is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Avreli landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Salty is refusing to be controlled, as Avreli sits in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salty takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Salty seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Avreli shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Salty is backing up but Avreli catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Salty covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Avreli Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Avreli! Mark Avreli retains his heavyweight title! The defeated Elmo Salty had this to say: 'You win some, you lose some. I'll be back. I always do man...'.
