Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arthur Spigelman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arthur Spigelman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rickson Gracie! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Spigelman throws a lazy right hand but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Gracie fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Spigelman checks it well. Spigelman dips to his left and cracks Gracie with an uppercut! Gracie gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Spigelman. Gracie tries for a takedown but Spigelman circles away easily and Gracie takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Spigelman counters with a stiff right hand. Arthur Spigelman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rickson Gracie. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie ducks under a wild hook from Spigelman. Spigelman misses with a wild body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to slow Spigelman down by chopping away at his legs. Gracie shoots for a double leg takedown but Spigelman sprawls well. He's pushed Gracie's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Spigelman misses the shot to the body. Gracie throws a head kick that misses. Spigelman is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Spigelman. Rickson Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Spigelman keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Spigelman lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Spigelman throws a good cross that connects.
Gracie slips under a jab from Spigelman. Gracie with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Spigelman to score with a decent uppercut. Spigelman lands a jab to the head.
Gracie shoots and misses and Spigelman counters with a nice body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gracie tries to score with a low kick but Spigelman moves his leg out of the way. Spigelman was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Spigelman connects with a nice looking jab.
Gracie fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Spigelman is looking to counter punch. Spigelman throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it. Spigelman thows a left - swing and a miss! Gracie is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. A low kick from Gracie misses and Spigelman counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Gracie misses with a takedown and Spigelman counters with a straight right hand. Spigelman throws out a powerful jab. Gracie tries a head kick but it misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie has a takedown stuffed. Spigelman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Gracie keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Spigelman. A jab from Spigelman misses. Gracie drops his hands momentarily and Spigelman takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Gracie with a poor takedown and Spigelman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Gracie throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Spigelman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Gracie is in Spigelman's guard. Spigelman kicks Gracie off and gets to his feet. Gracie tried to score with a low kick but Spigelman checks it. Gracie feints and as Spigelman raises his hands in defense, Gracie changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Spigelman is trying to keep Gracie in close.
Spigelman has his hands on Gracie's head, controlling the position. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gracie stopping the sweep attempt from Spigelman. Gracie pushing down on Spigelman's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Spigelman tries to kick Gracie off but Gracie keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Spigelman trying to control from the bottom.
Spigelman knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Spigelman on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Spigelman tries to get out of the position. Gracie moves to the back position. Well, with Gracie on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Spigelman is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Gracie is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Spigelman is tapping out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rickson Gracie!
