Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
39 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Rocky Mercurious! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
26 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Fabian Cameron! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cameron throws a hook to the side of Mercurious's head but Mercurious sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Mercurious gets a double leg takedown into Cameron's guard. Mercurious tries to stand but Cameron is controlling from the bottom. Cameron looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Mercurious has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Mercurious got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cameron has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mercurious has managed to get both his arms back between Cameron's legs - danger averted. Mercurious avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mercurious has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cameron is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mercurious wants to control from the top but Cameron keeps moving. Cameron has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mercurious has passed into side control.
Mercurious working away. Cameron gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Cameron looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cameron is staying active underneath Mercurious, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Cameron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Cameron actively working from the bottom here. Cameron works his way to full guard. Good work. Cameron bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mercurious's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cameron throwing strikes but missing. Mercurious wants to sweep here but Cameron controlling him for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cameron missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Mercurious keeping moving, preventing Cameron from controlling successfully. Cameron stays in close to Mercurious's body and controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Cameron throws a shot from downtown. Mercurious moves away and avoids it. Mercurious swings for the body but Cameron moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Cameron on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cameron jabbing away but nothing is landing. Mercurious scores with a three punch combo!
Nice straight punches there by Cameron. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cameron. Mercurious moves out of range of the strikes. Cameron fails to land the takedown. Cameron connects with a single shot there. Mercurious misses the shot to the body. Cameron swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Cameron throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Cameron takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Cameron throws a hook to the side of Mercurious's head but Mercurious sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. It looked like Mercurious was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cameron. Cameron takes a swing at Mercurious's ribcage but misses. Cameron rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mercurious cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rocky Mercurious will probably get the nod. That's time! Mercurious's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Mercurious is looking to stand up but Cameron won't let him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cameron pulls Mercurious in close to his closed guard and prevents Mercurious from doing any damage or advancing position. Rocky Mercurious overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Cameron is looking to cinch up a triangle. Mercurious throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cameron's body to avoid the submission. Cameron has instead reached around Mercurious's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cameron arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
