Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Woodrow Walter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trent West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trent West will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Woodrow Walter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Trent West! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! West throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A looping hook to the body misses from West. Walter does a little dance to reset his feet. West misses with a head kick.
Walter is looking to counter punch. West throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Walter was covering up waiting for the punch and West finishes the takedown easily into guard. West is fighting to break Walter's control of his arms but Walter is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Walter keeping full guard, as West tries to pass. Walter throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
West postures up in Walter's guard and throws a big left but Walter blocks it. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. West trying to control the position from guard on top but Walter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. West tries to clinch but Walter moves out of range. West tries to clinch up. Walter gets caught napping as West dives in and scores a takedown. Walter manages to retain guard. West tries to free his leg and advance position but Walter is retaining full guard. West got a little sloppy there for a moment and Walter has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, West has managed to get both his arms back between Walter's legs - danger averted.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. West tries to close the distance and clinch up but Walter swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's four minutes gone in the round. West fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Walter to the ground. West is now in Walter's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Walter keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. West wants to stand but Walter is controlling his posture from full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Walter holds on and takes a little breather. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! West throws a big right hand that misses. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Trent West dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Walter will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning West up against the cage. West misses with a short punch on the inside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walter is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables West to keep the fight standing. Walter manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Walter keeping moving, preventing West from controlling successfully. West would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

West has been the more effective fighter overall so far. West stands and throws Walter's legs to the side, diving into side control. West is looking to take a break and control but Walter is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. West sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Walter is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. West trying to control the action but Walter is working from the bottom. Walter is trying to control West's posture but West avoids it. The fight stays on the outside here - West looks like he's thinking about clinching though. West changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Walter tries to avoid it but West manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Walter to the ground. Walter escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Walter thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Walter will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Walter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Walter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
