Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ragnar Thorvaldson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lorenz Sparrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lorenz Sparrow! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thorvaldson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Sparrow counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sparrow must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Thorvaldson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sparrow's guard.
Thorvaldson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thorvaldson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Thorvaldson advances to half guard. Sparrow is trying to stand.
Thorvaldson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Thorvaldson is working for a submission of some sort.
Sparrow is looking to control Thorvaldson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sparrow avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorvaldson seems to be working for a kimura but Sparrow defends the submission attempt. Thorvaldson is looking for a kimura but Sparrow is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Thorvaldson to get the leverage. Sparrow wants to get back to full guard. Thorvaldson is working for a kimura but Sparrow is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thorvaldson has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Sparrow defend it? Thorvaldson steps over the head and cranks it - Sparrow is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Thorvaldson!
