Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lump Beefrock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hardkorowy Koksu! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Koksu slips under a jab. Hardkorowy Koksu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Koksu lunges at Beefrock with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Beefrock's hand.
It looks like Lump Beefrock has been cut. Beefrock throws a jab when Koksu was well out of range. Koksu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beefrock. Koksu fails with an attempt to clinch.
A counter left hand to the body from Beefrock misses its target. A looping hook to the body misses from Beefrock. Koksu does a little dance to reset his feet. Koksu lands a body shot.
Beefrock keeps the fight on the outside. Beefrock appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Koksu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Beefrock paws at him with a jab and circles away. Koksu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beefrock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Koksu lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Beefrock backs up against the cage.
Nice straight punches there by Koksu. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Koksu. Beefrock ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Koksu moves away. Koksu scores with a nice right hand.
This has been an exciting period of action! The fight stays on the outside here - Koksu looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Beefrock swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Koksu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Koksu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's one minute gone in the round. Koksu wants to clinch. Koksu tries to close the distance and clinch but Beefrock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Koksu is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Koksu tries to clinch but Beefrock is having none of it. Beefrock misses with a straight right. Koksu walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Koksu fails with an attempt to clinch.
Beefrock is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Koksu's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Koksu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beefrock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Koksu tried to score with a low kick but Beefrock checks it. Beefrock was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Koksu tries to close the distance and clinch but Beefrock swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Beefrock swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Koksu is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Koksu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Beefrock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Beefrock dodges the punch combination from Koksu.
Koksu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Beefrock.
Koksu takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Koksu looks winded! Beefrock pounces like a tiger and cracks Koksu with a vicious hook! Koksu is down but not out! Beefrock follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
