Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edmundo Edilhson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gully God (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). God has chosen justin morgan gin and juice as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 18 - 1, fighting out of New York, Edmundo Edilhson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 12 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Gully God! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Edilhson looks to score with a jab to the body but God is just out of range. God throws a big counter head kick but Edilhson avoids it with no problem. God has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Edilhson throws a one two combo.
Edilhson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? God is fending him off so far but Edilhson persists. Nope, God circles away and we're back to standing. God leaves Edilhson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Edilhson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. God lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Edilhson shoots in for a takedown but God shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. God throws a fast counter high kick but Edilhson manages to duck under it in time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmundo Edilhson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edilhson tries to clinch but God moves out of range. God displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Edilhson. A countering left hand to the body from God misses. We've been told by Edilhson's head coaches at Demon's Elite Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Gully God is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. God tries to bum rush Edilhson with a series of wild strikes but Edilhson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Edilhson tries to clinch up. Edilhson shoots in and drives through. God sprawls well. God moves forwards but Edilhson connects with a nice, crisp jab. Edilhson is looking to clinch. God was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind. Edilhson wants to slow God down by chopping away at his legs. Some wild striking there from God.
Edilhson tries to close the distance and clinch up but God swats him away and circles back towards the center.
That's two minutes gone in the round. God looks to land a left hand but Edilhson moved out of range nicely. God avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Edilhson closes this distance looking for a takedown but God circles away. God walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. God ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Edilhson moves away. That kick from Edilhson tenderised God's leg. God is trying to keep his angry face on. A kick lands to the mid section there for Edilhson. Edilhson tries to clinch up. God misses with a shot to the body and Edilhson counters with a single leg into guard. God didn't expect that. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! God working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Edilhson. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. God looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edilhson postures up in God's guard and throws a big left but God blocks it. Edilhson throws an elbow that misses. God uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Edilhson's guard. Nice move by God! Edilhson looking for a sweep. Not yet Edilhson, not yet. Edilhson is working hard here to advance position. God pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Edilhson is keeping the position for now. God preventing the sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. God trying to control the position from guard on top but Edilhson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. God is fighting to break Edilhson's control of his arms but Edilhson is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Edilhson is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Edilhson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. God is aware though and is defending well. God trying to control but Edilhson is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Edmundo Edilhson will probably get the nod. That's time! Edilhson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Edilhson lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Edilhson shoots in but God avoids the takedown attempt easily. God looks like he wants to counter punch here. Edmundo Edilhson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. God misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Edilhson.
God gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Edilhson lands a head shot. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A punch lands to the side of God 's head but he takes it in his stride. Edilhson misses with a takedown attempt and God counters with a thumping low kick. Edilhson chopping away at his opponent's legs.
God lands a nice shot that snaps Edilhson's head back.
That's one minute gone in the round. God has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Edilhson. Edilhson looks for a takedown but God sprawls well. God only half commits to the counter leg kick. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmundo Edilhson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edilhson throws a lazy head kick and God counters with a crisp one two that drops Edilhson! God thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Edilhson to his feet! Edilhson is in big trouble!
Edilhson is rocked! God bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Oh Edilhson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! God throws a combination that misses so Edilhson counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. God has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Edilhson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. God is controlling Edilhson's posture. Edilhson seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edilhson is pushing down on God's leg trying to pass to half guard. God is fighting to maintain full guard but Edilhson has managed to sneak the leg through. God tries to get to full guard but Edilhson has control of the leg. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Edilhson is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Edilhson slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. God gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Edilhson trying to pass the guard but God defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. God is looking for a sweep. Edilhson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Edilhson looks to land a strike but God avoids it nicely and regains full guard. God controls Edilhson momentarily but Edilhson frees himself. God has his hands on Edilhson's head, controlling the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Edilhson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. God is adopting a defensive guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Edilhson tries for a takedown but God circles away easily and Edilhson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Edilhson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. God blocking the ground and pound attempt from Edilhson. Edmundo Edilhson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Still in half guard, Edilhson seems content to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Edmundo Edilhson dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Edilhson tried to score with a low kick but God checks it. God is looking for the big counter here. Edilhson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Edilhson wants to clinch. And an attempted straight right on the counter from God! But no joy. Gully God seems to be getting the better of the standup. God lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Edilhson taking a break here but God is having none of it and regains half guard. God wants to improve his position but Edilhson is controlling well.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The fighters are battling for position here. God manages to regain full guard. Nice work. God pulls Edilhson in close to his closed guard and prevents Edilhson from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. God trying to keep a closed guard but Edilhson is proving a slippery customer.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Good shot there by Edilhson. Edilhson misses with a takedown and God counters with a lovely straight right hand! God fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Edilhson. Edilhson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Gully God has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nice sprawl there from God as Edilhson shoots in. A nice side step and God releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
That's four minutes gone in the round. God throws a head kick that misses. Edilhson misses with a takedown and God counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Edmundo Edilhson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Edmundo Edilhson. That's going to take a lot out of him. Edilhson clinches up against the cage. God escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice jab there from Edilhson. Gully God is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Edilhson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for God! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Edilhson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. God throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
And that's the end of the fight! Edmundo Edilhson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Edilhson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
