Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keneth Byers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Dinkledorff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Keneth Byers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Ray Dinkledorff!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Byers blocks the body kick.

Dinkledorff has managed to clinch.
Dinkledorff content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Dinkledorff is pushing Byers up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Byers manages to break the clinch.
A head kick by Byers misses
and Byers takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dinkledorff throws a series of strikes that have Byers backpedaling.

Dinkledorff gets a clinch.

Byers breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Byers misses with a jab, cross combination.

Dinkledorff feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Byers could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Dinkledorff is stalling here. Byers is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dinkledorff seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Byers has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Dinkledorff is looking to regain half guard here but Byers keeps moving and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Dinkledorff's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Byers cracks Dinkledorff with a big right hand but Dinkledorff just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Dinkledorff tries to buck Byers off but Byers is having none of it.

Byers looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dinkledorff stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dinkledorff wants to control but Byers postures up.
The referee asks Byers politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Byers prefers to stall for the moment though.
Byers trying to control the action but Dinkledorff is working from the bottom.
Dinkledorff is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Byers's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Byers seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dinkledorff does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dinkledorff is trying to stand up here but Byers is controlling him well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Byers clinches with his opponent.

Byers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Byers tries to keep at a distance but Dinkledorff has taken the fight into the clinch.

Dinkledorff has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Byers is trying to keep an underhook but Dinkledorff manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Dinkledorff has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Byers sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Dinkledorff seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Byers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Byers has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dinkledorff is working away from the top position though.
Dinkledorff thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Byers's head.

Dinkledorff is looking for a kimura but Byers is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dinkledorff to get the leverage.
Byers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dinkledorff wants to stand up but Byers is controlling the position.

Byers gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Byers is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dinkledorff defends well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Dinkledorff trying to hold on to Byers's head to control him but Byers postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Left hook, right uppercut from Dinkledorff.
Sloppy strikes from Dinkledorff. Those never looked like landing.
Byers misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dinkledorff bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Dinkledorff is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Byers has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dinkledorff is breathing heavily.
Byers regains half guard there - taking advantage of Dinkledorff's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Dinkledorff has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Byers regains full guard. Nicely done.

Dinkledorff is looking to pass into half guard but Byers pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Byers is in guard.

Dinkledorff is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dinkledorff is keen to just control but Byers is a slippery customer.

Ray Dinkledorff showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Byers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Byers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dinkledorff tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Byers wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Byers wants to control but Dinkledorff is keeping him busy.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Dinkledorff just misses with a punch to the body.

Byers clinches up against the cage.

Dinkledorff lands a takedown into guard.
Dinkledorff wants to control from the top but Byers keeps moving.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dinkledorff. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Byers throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Dinkledorff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Byers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Keneth Byers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ray Dinkledorff is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Byers throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

I would just about give that final round to Ray Dinkledorff.
Well Dinkledorff has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
