The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mitchell keeps the fight on the outside.
Smokeleaf takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Mitchell drives through with a takedown into Smokeleaf's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

We've been hearing good reports from Mitchell's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Smokeleaf wants to get up but he can't break Mitchell's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Mitchell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smokeleaf as he jumps to the side.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
