Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Buford Schultz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Liberio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Liberio is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buford Schultz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Liberio! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schultz slips a jab and a cross from Liberio.
Schultz moves into the clinch. Liberio avoids the elbow strike from Schultz, against the cage.
Schultz pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Schultz throws a leg kick and Liberio counters with a one-two to the body. Liberio gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Schultz to score an easy takedown into full guard. Liberio is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Schultz could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Liberio can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Schultz controls the pace. Schultz has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liberio wants to stand but Schultz is controlling the position. Schultz sitting in guard, not really doing much. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Schultz moves in looking to clinch but Liberio pushes him off. Schultz checks the leg kick. Liberio throws a sloppy head kick and Schultz moves out of range easily. Schultz showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Liberio.
Schultz half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Liberio has taken the fight to the clinch.

Schultz creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Liberio has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Schultz drags the fight down to the ground.
Schultz has his hands on Liberio's head, controlling the position. Liberio trying to stand up but can't free himself from Schultz's guard. Schultz wants to get back to his feet but Liberio is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Liberio wanted to stand there but Schultz had control of the position. Schultz pulls Liberio in close to his closed guard and prevents Liberio from doing any damage or advancing position. Schultz continues to stall.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Liberio throws a low kick, looking for Schultz's leg but Schultz calmly moves out of range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Schultz tries to clinch up but Liberio circles away and keeps his distance. Liberio throws a nice looking combination but Schultz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Schultz gets tackled into the cage by Liberio. Liberio maintains the clinch. Schultz using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Liberio has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Liberio tightens his grip and picks Schultz up, before dumping him to the ground. Schultz manages to land in guard. Liberio would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Schultz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Schultz is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Liberio is controlling him. Schultz is pulling down on Liberio's head to control his posture. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Liberio stands up and waves to Schultz to follow him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Daniel Liberio dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sloppy strikes from Liberio. Those never looked like landing. Schultz drops down looking for a counter takedown but Liberio sprawls and moves away. Liberio throws a leg kick that misses. Liberio misses with a few strikes there.

Schultz takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Schultz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Liberio looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Schultz attempts a counter takedown but Liberio avoids it well and moves away. Liberio swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Schultz. Schultz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Liberio napping and manages to drive through into side control! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Schultz throwing strikes but Liberio manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schultz sneaks out the side door and pushes Liberio away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Daniel Liberio is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Schultz tries to grapple but his opponent circles enabling Liberio to counter with a crisp jab. Daniel Liberio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Liberio displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Liberio takes a kick to the side of the head. Liberio throws a nice looking combination but Schultz bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. The fight moves into the clinch position. Liberio pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Schultz misses with a head kick.
Liberio throws a right hand that Schultz ducks under and follows up with a left that Schultz also avoids with ease. Liberio misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

A close second round but Daniel Liberio will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Schultz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Schultz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Liberio sprawls well initially but Schultz persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Schultz in particular looking to stall. Liberio trying to control but Schultz postures up.

Liberio is looking to escape. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liberio can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Liberio throws a series of strikes that have Schultz backpedaling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liberio pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Liberio throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Liberio misses with a jab, cross combination.

A combination from Liberio does no damage. Schultz shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Schultz uses his free foot to push down on Liberio's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Liberio. Schultz content just to control the position here. Schultz trying to control but Liberio is having none of it. Schultz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Buford Schultz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Daniel Liberio is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Liberio is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buford Schultz. I think Liberio has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
