Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yahweh Falwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hugo Stokes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Falwell comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop Believing. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hugo Stokes! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stokes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stokes cracks Falwell with a big elbow. Stokes tries for a kimura but Falwell is defending well. Stokes tries for a kimura but Falwell is defending well. Stokes is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Falwell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Stokes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Falwell, who protects the arm well.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Falwell parries the strikes from Stokes easily there. Stokes is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Falwell to escape.
Stokes is trying to get an arm triangle but Falwell is defending well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stokes trying to control the action but Falwell is working from the bottom. Falwell taking punishment in the form of punches.
We've been hearing good reports from Falwell's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stokes in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Falwell is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hugo Stokes! Yahweh Falwell spoke after the fight, saying 'Hasa diga eebowai. I guess I didn't pray hard enough, or maybe prayed too much. I bet if I rolled more instead of praying, I might have learned to defend submissions. I guess it's God's will. But to quote George Carlin: "If it's God's will and he's going to do what he wants to anyway, why'.
