PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Korgan Bloodaxe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louden Swain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swain has chosen Gambler as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Korgan Bloodaxe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Louden Swain!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloodaxe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Swain throws out the jab.
Swain connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bloodaxe momentarily.
Bloodaxe moves in looking to clinch but Swain pushes him off.
Swain shoots for a double leg takedown but Bloodaxe sprawls well. He's pushed Swain's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bloodaxe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Swain wants to break free but Bloodaxe has control.
Bloodaxe utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Bloodaxe is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Swain is looking to break free of the clinch but Bloodaxe has double underhooks.
I was talking to Bloodaxe's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Swain's coach down at Cheap Elites! Golden Eye Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Swain's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Swain shoots in looking for a takedown but Bloodaxe manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Swain's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Swain is trying to trip Bloodaxe. He has hold of a leg but Bloodaxe is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Swain persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Bloodaxe is looking to control Swain's arms but Swain gets an underhook and turns him. Now Bloodaxe has his back to the cage.

Swain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Korgan Bloodaxe is winning the standup battle so far.
A chopping leg kick lands by Bloodaxe.

Bloodaxe tries to clinch but Swain moves out of range.

Swain feints the counter takedown.
Bloodaxe tries to clinch but Swain moves out of range.
Bloodaxe connects with the punch.
Bloodaxe throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Swain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bloodaxe.
A combination from Bloodaxe does no damage.
Swain takes a kick to the side of the head.
Swain is still on wobbly legs! Can Bloodaxe finish him?

Bloodaxe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bloodaxe dips a shoulder and cracks Swain with a mighty uppercut! Swain falls back against the cage and Bloodaxe unloads with a barrage of strikes! Swain is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Bloodaxe screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
