Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wyatt Rojas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonta Engelbrecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wyatt Rojas has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wyatt Rojas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonta Engelbrecht!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Engelbrecht misses with a combination
and Rojas counters with a left and a right that stings Engelbrecht.
Engelbrecht tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rojas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rojas checks a low kick from Engelbrecht.
Rojas tries to counter with a takedown but Engelbrecht is quick to defend against it.
A shot to the body from Engelbrecht misses
and Rojas counters with a head kick. That will keep Engelbrecht thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Engelbrecht decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Rojas wants to get back to full guard.
Still in half guard, Engelbrecht seems content to control.
Rojas blocking the ground and pound attempt from Engelbrecht.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Engelbrecht wants to free his trapped foot but Rojas is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rojas wants to get back to his feet.
Rojas is pressing down on Engelbrecht's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Engelbrecht is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rojas defends well.

Engelbrecht has his foot on Rojas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rojas works his way back into a safe position though.

Rojas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rojas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Engelbrecht gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rojas tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Rojas has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Engelbrecht after a bit of a struggle.

Engelbrecht pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rojas throws a big elbow that misses.
Engelbrecht avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Engelbrecht has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rojas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Engelbrecht is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rojas manages to get to full guard.

A close round but Jonta Engelbrecht will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Engelbrecht wants to clinch up but Rojas keeps it at a distance.
Rojas tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Engelbrecht manages to circle out of the way.

Engelbrecht drives through and clinches with Rojas against the cage.

Engelbrecht turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Engelbrecht manages to end up in side control.
Rojas regains half guard.
Engelbrecht prevents Rojas from improving his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Engelbrecht in particular looking to stall.
Engelbrecht is pressing down on Rojas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rojas is holding on for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Engelbrecht stands up and beckons Rojas to join him on the feet.

Rojas wants to improve his position but Engelbrecht is controlling well.
Engelbrecht moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Rojas.
Rojas sneaks back into half guard.

Engelbrecht is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Rojas as he works his way to full guard.

Rojas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rojas wants to stand and escape but Engelbrecht is having none of it.
Engelbrecht stopping the sweep attempt from Rojas.
Rojas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Engelbrecht is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Engelbrecht shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Still in half guard, Engelbrecht seems content to control.

Engelbrecht stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Rojas to get to his feet.
Wyatt Rojas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Engelbrecht wants to clinch.

Engelbrecht shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rojas manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Engelbrecht slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonta Engelbrecht showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Engelbrecht tries to clinch but Rojas is having none of it.

Rojas swats away the attempt to clinch by Engelbrecht.
Rojas appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Engelbrecht changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rojas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Engelbrecht tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Engelbrecht has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rojas tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Engelbrecht presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Engelbrecht sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Rojas is in all sorts of trouble here.
Engelbrecht looking to control but Rojas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Engelbrecht is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rojas to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rojas shrugs it off.
Rojas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Rojas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Engelbrecht uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Engelbrecht closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rojas's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Engelbrecht sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Engelbrecht pushes down on Rojas's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Engelbrecht wants to free his trapped foot but Rojas is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Wyatt Rojas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jonta Engelbrecht is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
