Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Superior Nucleus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexsandro De Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nucleus comes to the cage accompanied by Tupac - Hit 'Em Up. De Souza has chosen Alex De Souza as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Souza lands a leg kick that knocks Nucleus off balance momentarily.
Nucleus takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Some bone on bone action there as Nucleus checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
As De Souza tries to get set, Nucleus tries to push him back and clinch up but De Souza manages to avoid the attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from De Souza, right into the meat.
Nucleus shoots in for a takedown but De Souza shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nucleus throws the left hand but De Souza avoids the punch easily.

Nucleus looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Nucleus tries to pull guard but De Souza holds him up against the cage and eventually Nucleus drops back down to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nucleus isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. De Souza stacks Nucleus on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by De Souza!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
