The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dejesus sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bryers somewhat.
Cohan Bryers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bryers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dejesus's guard.
Bryers pushes down on Dejesus's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Dejesus is defending against the submission attempts here by Bryers.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bryers wants to work for an arm triangle but Dejesus is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Dejesus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Dejesus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bryers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dejesus has managed to get both his arms back between Bryers's legs - danger averted.
