Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reynard The Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Fox fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Perez avoids it really well and circles away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Perez is trying to work for a sweep but The Fox has mounted him!

That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Perez will probably get the nod.

Perez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Perez wants to pass to mount but The Fox is defending the position.
Perez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The Fox shoots and misses
and Perez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The Fox shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Perez pinned against the cage. Perez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Perez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but The Fox swivels and escapes.
The Fox tries to score a power double leg takedown but Perez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten The Fox somewhat.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Perez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into The Fox's guard.
Lucas Perez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The Fox looking to hit a scissor sweep but Perez is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Fox working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Perez doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Perez manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perez throws an elbow that misses. The Fox uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Perez's guard. Nice move by The Fox!

Lucas Perez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Perez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
