Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Galen Atkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sigmund Barakowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Galen Atkins has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Galen Atkins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sigmund Barakowski! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Konstantin Menshow and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barakowski looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Atkins! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Barakowski is looking to take a break and control but Atkins is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Atkins could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Atkins is letting Barakowski control him for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barakowski tries to move to mount but Atkins blocks the move with his legs. Barakowski controls the position.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Barakowski drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Barakowski wants to lay and pray for a moment but Atkins keeps working. Barakowski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Atkins has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atkins bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Atkins looks for a takedown but Barakowski sprawls well. Atkins gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Atkins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Barakowski controls the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atkins tries to land a sweep but no joy. Atkins wants to get back to his feet but Barakowski is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Barakowski slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Barakowski's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Barakowski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Atkins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Barakowski on the ground. Barakowski content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Atkins is not content to let Barakowski control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sigmund Barakowski dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Barakowski throws a body kick that misses and Atkins counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Barakowski keeps control of Atkins as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Barakowski is defending well against a takedown attempt. Barakowski gets underhooks to prevent Atkins's takedown attempt.
Barakowski jumps guard and drags Atkins to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Atkins has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Barakowski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Barakowski has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Atkins has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barakowski trying to stall but Atkins improves his position.
Barakowski has hold of one of Atkins's legs. Atkins is fighting the takedown attempt but Barakowski gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Barakowski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barakowski trying to control the position from guard on top but Atkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Barakowski controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Barakowski drops back looking for a leg! Atkins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Atkins manages to kick Barakowski off! Barakowski jumps back into Atkins's guard. Barakowski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Barakowski wants to control from the top but Atkins keeps moving.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Barakowski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Barakowski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Barakowski advances to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Barakowski trying to control but he's not successful this time. Barakowski with a couple of short strikes. Atkins defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Barakowski. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Barakowski working for a submission but Atkins is keeping him at bay. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Sigmund Barakowski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Atkins clinches. Barakowski trying to stall but Atkins improves his position.
Barakowski works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Barakowski controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barakowski tries to free his leg and advance position but Atkins is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atkins wants to get back to his feet but Barakowski is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Barakowski not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Barakowski slips nicely into half guard. Barakowski perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Barakowski is working for a kimura here but Atkins manages to reverse the position and he's now in Barakowski's guard.

Barakowski is controlling Atkins's trapped leg to prevent Atkins from advancing to side control. Atkins controlling the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atkins thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Atkins is thwarting Barakowski's attempts to control the position. Barakowski gets full guard. Barakowski pulls Atkins in close to his closed guard and prevents Atkins from doing any damage or advancing position. Barakowski is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Atkins tries to clinch but fails miserably so Barakowski counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Barakowski stays in close to Atkins's body and controls the position. Barakowski trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Barakowski's corner is telling him to maintain position. Let's hope that Barakowski has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Barakowski looking to pass the guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Sigmund Barakowski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Barakowski winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
