Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kirk Thorpe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Louis Friedlander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Friedlander is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bring Me to Life. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kirk Thorpe! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Louis Friedlander ! The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Friedlander misses with a combination
and Thorpe counters with a two punch combo. Friedlander takes a shot right to the bread basket. Friedlander misses with a takedown attempt and Thorpe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Friedlander doesn't manage to clinch there - Thorpe circles away.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Friedlander has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Thorpe will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A decent looking cross lands there for Thorpe. Thorpe throws a shot to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Friedlander walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Thorpe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Friedlander dives in for a single leg takedown but Thorpe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Thorpe slaps away a takedown attempt from Friedlander , before circling back to the center of the mat. Kirk Thorpe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Louis Friedlander . Friedlander with a poor takedown and Thorpe counters with a nice body shot. Friedlander has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Louis Friedlander has been cut. Friedlander has his takedown stuffed and Thorpe cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Friedlander tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thorpe swivels and escapes. Thorpe tests Friedlander 's chin there with a solid looking shot. A looping hook to the body misses from Thorpe. Friedlander does a little dance to reset his feet. Friedlander is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Thorpe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Louis Friedlander seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Thorpe with a jab. Friedlander gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Thorpe counters with a straight right hand. Friedlander takes one to the chin there. Nice takedown defense from Thorpe. No joy for Friedlander on that attempt. Thorpe lands a nice looking body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Friedlander on the wrong end of a nice jab. Thorpe lands a glancing blow to the side of Friedlander 's head. Thorpe wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Thorpe clobbers Friedlander with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Thorpe feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Friedlander sprawling to the canvas! Friedlander rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Thorpe finish him?!
Friedlander is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Thorpe catches Friedlander with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Friedlander forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Kirk Thorpe! Kirk Thorpe made sure to give a little speech post fight, saying 'Captains log book. Wintime. I got my 4th Win today and still feel like there is more to add to my abilities. Looking forward to my next opponent.'.
