Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Barry Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Scott comes to the cage accompanied by Bang - By Barry Scott. Luke Jones will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 20 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Barry Scott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 7 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Luke Jones! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones connects with a right hand. Scott shakes it off. Scott swings and misses with a hook to the body.
A jab from Jones finds it's way through Scott's defenses. Scott throws a push kick but Jones slaps the foot to one side. Jones fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Scott throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Jones is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Jones shoots in and drives through. Scott sprawls well. Jones throws a nice outside leg kick. Scott misses with a body kick. Scott takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
We've been informed that Jones has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Jones scores with a sloppy right hand. Scott should have avoided that one. Scott looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range. Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Scott. Luke Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Scott takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Scott throws a low kick but it's checked well by Jones. Jones is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Jones tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Jones lands a really nice looking cross but Scott seems unphased.

Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Scott takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Jones is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Scott just misses with a punch to the body.

Scott misses with a looping left. Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Scott.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Scott. Scott fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Jones has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Scott takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Scott tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jones manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Scott misses with an uppercut. Scott checks the leg kick. Scott throws a body kick that misses. Jones with the counter takedown but Scott avoids it easily. Jones avoids the body shot from Scott.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Scott. Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Jones feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Scotts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Scott stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Jones has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Scott checks a leg kick nicely. Scott will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Jones throws a body punch but Scott moves out of range. Scott buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Scott is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. The fighters circle momentarily. Jones darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Jones throws a front kick that sends Scott stumbling back into the cage. Scott on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Scott takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Jones throws a front kick aimed at Scott's knee but Scott avoids it well. Jones avoids the body shot from Scott.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Scott rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage. Scott struggles to land a body shot inside as Jones controls his hands.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Scott. Jones blocks a punch to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones blocks an uppercut.
Jones lands with a right to the head. Jones has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Scott is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Barry Scott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luke Jones. Jones working aggressively here.

Jones working some nice short punches in the clinch. Scott escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Scott sprawls well. Scott wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jones gets slowly back to his feet. Scott attempts a counter takedown but Jones avoids it well and moves away. Jones misses with a wild body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Jones dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Jones cracks Scott with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Luke Jones seems to be getting the better of the standup. Jones lands a nice leg kick that just misses Scott's sensitive parts. Jones's corner calls for a 1-2. Jones obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Scott. And Jones tries to counter it with a takedown but Scott pushes his down on his head and steps out. Scott stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jones. Jones is looking to land body kicks. Scott will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Scott shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Scott closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jones did well to prevent Scott getting side control. Jones tries to get to full guard but Scott has control of the leg. Scott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones. Jones keeping moving, preventing Scott from controlling successfully. Jones pulls Scott in to control the position. Scott might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Scott stops Jones from standing up. Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Scott trying to control the position from guard on top but Jones is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Jones - that will leave a mark!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Jones slips under a jab. Scott is looking to land body kicks. Nice shot by Jones. Jones connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Jones dips to his left and cracks Scott with an uppercut! Scott lands a slapping body shot.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses. Scott pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jones is out of range and Scott settles back down. Scott bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Scott doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.

Scott moves forwards but Jones connects with a nice, crisp jab. Scott lands a really nice looking cross but Jones seems unphased.
Scott tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jones swivels and escapes. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Jones, as that shot connected.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A punch lands to the side of Scott 's head but he takes it in his stride. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Scott throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Jones sees it coming and avoids it easily. Scott misses with a hook
and Jones counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Jones with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Jones trying to control from half guard but Scott is working away. Scott tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Scott is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jones is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Jones dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Scott. That did some damage! Jones fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Scott is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Jones's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems. Jones looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Jones lands a head kick. Scott smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Scott has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Scott there as he acknowledges the shot. Scott is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Jones will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Jones tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Scott has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Jones. Scott takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Scott fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jones. Scott misses with a two punch combination.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Scott loads up on a big right hand but Jones slips the punch. And Jones tries to counter it with a takedown but Scott pushes his down on his head and steps out. Jones wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jones throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Scott's head. Jones lands with a thumping leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones cracks Scott with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Scott looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Scott misses with a takedown attempt - Jones sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jones is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Scott clinches up with Jones and pushes him back against the cage. Jones has clasped his hands together around Scott's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Scott is looking to regain half guard here but Jones keeps moving and retains side control. A control attempt from Scott but he's now mounted! Jones with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Scott is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Jones lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones working the ground and pound effectively.

And that's the end of the fight! Luke Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Barry Scott was interviewed post fight and said 'Well after fifty plus fights and plenty of ups and downs I guess it's time I think about retirement.... Well I've got news for you, Barry Scott will never retire!!!!'.
