Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Reaper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viktor Gragula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Reaper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Viktor Gragula!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Reaper shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Gragula napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Reaper goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Gragula rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Reaper's guard! Nice work there by Gragula!

Reaper has his foot on Gragula's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gragula works his way back into a safe position though.
Gragula slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Gragula tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Reaper tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gragula stands up and beckons Reaper to his feet.

Gragula drives through and clinches with Reaper against the cage.
Reaper goes for a takedown attempt but Gragula pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gragula defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Reaper.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gragula manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reaper on his heels. He'll look to pass Reaper's guard now, I'm sure.
Gragula works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Gragula looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reaper manages to get to full guard.
Gragula is looking to stand up but Reaper won't let him.
Gragula chips away with some ground and pound.

Reaper throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Gragula thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gragula drops back looking for a leg! Reaper is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reaper manages to kick Gragula off! Gragula jumps back into Reaper's guard.
Gragula wants to control from the top but Reaper keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gragula wants to get up but he can't break Reaper's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gragula scores with a decent looking elbow strike.


It looks like Sid Reaper has been cut.
Reaper keeping moving, preventing Gragula from controlling successfully.
Gragula scoring with some ground and pound.
Gragula stands and throws Reaper's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gragula is trying to get an arm triangle but Reaper is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gragula is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Reaper is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Reaper is looking for a sweep.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Reaper is working hard here to advance position.

Gragula is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Reaper has escaped the position, nice work there.
Reaper is looking to regain half guard here but Gragula keeps moving and retains side control.
Gragula wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reaper keeps working.
Gragula works to advance to full mount. Reaper defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gragula looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Gragula dominating with strikes here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reaper slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Gragula looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Gragula wants to control but Reaper is keeping him busy.
Gragula lands with a punch from half guard.


Sid Reaper's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Gragula looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gragula winds up and cracks Reaper with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Jeez, Sid Reaper's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sid Reaper's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Viktor Gragula!
After winning the bout, Viktor Gragula thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
